Bobbie Jo Adkins
digital director & strategist
Hi! I’m Bobbie, a hybrid designer, developer, and systems architect that helps entrepreneurs build and grow businesses on the rise.
For nearly a decade, I’ve given entrepreneurs and their teams the guidance and support they need to build websites and platforms that pave the way to big time success.
In many ways, I believe that I’m living proof of my own concept. Growing up, I didn’t have many positive role models or worldly perspectives. But what I did have was drive, the kind that helped me become an expert at making something from nothing. I learned to create. I learned to code. I learned to cultivate communities of empowered women and I learned to be still and listen carefully to their vision. Today I am driven by taking that voice and that vision, and building a structure that allows them to execute it seamlessly.
Yes, you can turn that daydream into your day job. Yes, you can start with an idea and manifest a movement. Yes, you can run a booming business that allows you to put your grit to good use.
Since becoming my own boss, I’ve developed processes that help you put all the moving pieces together to create a powerful identity. It’s this identity – your brand, your website, your systems – that has the power to become your greatest catalyst for growth.
A Real Timeline
rise above

Small Town Roots, Big Time Ambition
I’m born in a small Appalachian town to a family of four girls who all have the middle name “Jo”. No money, no running water, and no role models for as far as the eye can see, but I toughen up and set my sights high.
Owning My Past, Present, and Future
My parents divorce at 10. I emancipate myself at 15. I meet my now-husband at 16, we move in together - grow up together - and start the journey of building a life for ourselves. During that time, I ‘raise’ myself, finish high school, and learn to?work hard for the things I need.
Mourning and Moving On
My sisters and I plan my mother’s funeral when I’m barely 19. An alcoholic until the day she died, my mother showed me the dangers of addiction and motivated me to run onward and upward – towards safety, stability, and security.
Running Solo
I deliver my first son at 20. My husband knows it’s time to get real about the future, so he joins the Army, ships off to?basic training and immediately deploys to Korea to support us. I make the most of the time alone, determined to run a household, raise a family, and run a business on my own terms.
Cheers to a Fresh Start
Coming home from Korea to a one year old little boy and wife who's now a first time business owner is an adjustment, but we're excited to finally do this thing together. Our first military move as a family?takes us to Fort Campbell, where neither of us know a soul. I embrace Army-life and see our transition as a fresh start in a new direction.
Climbing My Way to the Top
The next few years are a fast paced rollercoaster of accomplishments and growth - and hard stuff. Just after giving birth to my second son,?my husband?deploys to?Iraq. I stay put at our duty station and take care of our then 5-month-old and 2-year-old. The stay at home mom and Army wife schtick isn't enough for me here - my desire to do more and have more for my family leads me down a new path. I enter real estate and quickly rise to the top where I build a recognizable brand, earn real money, and carve out my niche as a local expert.
Making Moves, Planning Big
As I earn my real estate wings, I start buying, flipping, and managing properties, my most lucrative business move to date. To this day, I still LOVE a great property deal and some hardcore renovations. I take this experience with me as we transition again with a PCS to Fort Jackson, SC where my husband takes on the role of Drill Sergeant, and I expand?my real estate career into a new state.
Hiring Me, Myself, and I
I realize that my life’s work isn’t real estate – it's guiding others to their 'big picture'. ?I naturally?transition into the digital marketing world, branding myself and my colleagues online. This fun side-hustle snowballs?into a full time business and I build my design and coding chops along the way. I freelance and work behind the scenes of several digital agencies,?mastering the art of hand coding a website and designing smart brands.
Freelancer to Full-Timer
It's time for number 3. We?welcome our fierce baby girl into the world. He leaves the Army behind and begins law school while I level-up my freelance business. Shit gets REAL and our family of five chooses?to make some serious shifts towards taking control of our destiny.?
Arriving to the Here and Now
I hire a serious business coach, collaborate?with some brilliant?partners, and learn to attract the right clients. My signature combination of strategy, design and development?work in tandem to build businesses on the rise. I know for sure?that a little passion?and a lot of?hard work?can take you anywhere you want to go in life.?My clients call me their strategic partner for a reason: because I rise above and go beyond the call of duty, time after time.
